As a new-type of mathematical learning tool popularly recommended in China, whether graphing calculating technology (GCT) can promote students’ mathematical thinking is a concern for all. This paper uses verbal protocol method, and investigates the influence of GCT on students’ mathematical thinking and on students with different capabilities. And we analyze thoroughly the potential reason of the influences, and propose several suggestions for developing students’ mathematical thinking by GCT.
