Abstract

This paper presents an approach for solving fixed-order H controller design problem that is known as NP-hard. Distributed Probabilistic Model-Building Genetic Algorithm (DPMB-GA), which is recently developed and is known as an efficient meta-heuristic method, is utilized for solving the problem. Conducting numerical experiments, we show that the control system design method with DPMB-GA can achieve better performance compared to Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) algorithm which is also known as one of efficient meta-heuristics and recently was applied to control system design.
