Abstract

A glowing contact can generate metal or electrical insulation material particles which can possibly cause a fire. This paper examines the case of the generation of such particles from the energy saving switch of a hotel room (printed circuit board operated with a card key for the supply of the electric loads of a room except the refrigerator).
