This paper proposes the use a soft switching single-phase three-level rectifier cascaded with a half-bridge three-level inverter, as a switched-mode power supply (SMPS) with ac output voltage, low harmonic content, and soft switching characteristics result. The analysis of both structures is described, and some results on the operation of the converters are also presented.
