Abstract

Digital game-based learning is becoming a new trend for teaching and learning. While it has been developing in some countries for years, it is still a relatively new topic in others. The recent Hong Kong education system needs a transformation in the teaching and learning mode and digital games can play an important role. With the increasing popularity of digital games and rapid growth of needs in using information technology in the classrooms, this paper aims at looking into the local situation and the potential educational games market in Hong Kong with an example of a locally developed educational game.
