Abstract

This paper focuses on the delay-dependent guaranteed cost control (GCC) of uncertain linear dead-time systems. The uncertainty taken into account is of polytopic type. The delay is unknown, time-varying but bounded in size as well as time evolution rate. Delay-dependent conditions for the existence of robust memoryless guaranteed cost controller are presented in terms of linear matrix inequalities (LMIs) using Lyapunov-Krasovskii functional based approach and free weighting matrices. The results obtained depend both on the upper bound of the delay as well as its derivative. Illustrative numerical examples reflect the effectiveness and less conservativeness of our results.
