Ionospheric Delay and Inter-Frequency Bias Estimation By a Single Dual-Frequency GPS Receiver

This paper proposes an efficient method to estimate the absolute ionospheric delay and the inter-frequency bias at the same time by a single dual-frequency GPS receiver. As compared with the conventional methods utilizing external instruments for the inter-frequency bias calibration or a network of multiple receivers, the proposed method utilizes only the internal information of a dual-frequency receiver. Thus, it is anticipated that the extraction of the inter-frequency bias and the fine-grained channelwise ionospheric delays would be facilitated in many applications. By an experiment, feasibility of the proposed method is investigated.
