Power System Stabilizer, Adaptive Control, Parameter Identification
This paper presents a simple approach for designing power system stabilizers (PSS) with adaptive self-tuning parameter optimization technique. The proposed approach relies on an identification scheme and a control technique. The identification employs a predictive model that identifies the nonlinear power system. The control technique selects a suitable regulator structure and tunes its associated parameters to produce the appropriate control signal. The proposed control structure is the conventional PSS with lead-lag structure. The simulation results are presented and show the effectiveness of the proposed technique compared to conventional power system stabilizer as well as generalized minimum variance control.
