Abstract

Sudden cardiac arrest is a major public health problem and Ventricular Fibrillation (VF) is the serious arrhythmic event in most of patients suffering from sudden cardiac ar- rest. Beside American Heart Association (AHA) recom- mends continuous cardiac massage (or chest compression) during cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR). However, ac- cording to AHA guidelines, repetitive interruptions of chest compression for rate analysis are required In this paper, we propose an extraction algorithm of the essential ECG wave which is derived by removing the effects of cardiac mas- sage from the obtained ECG signal during CPR.
