Abstract

This paper proposes a photovoltaic-based (PV) three-phase three-leg dynamic voltage restorer (DVR) to mitigate deep and long-term voltage swells, voltage sags and outages on a low-voltage three-phase four-wire distribution system. Besides the voltage regulation, the proposed three-phase three-leg PV-DVR decreases the consumption of three-phase load from the distribution system. The decline in the consumption of energy is always enviable for the reduction of panel tariff. The proposed three-phase PV-DVR eliminates the use of individual stabilizer and reduces the panel tariff over a 12 h period. The experimental and MATLAB/Simulink simulation results are presented to validate the performance of the proposed PV-DVR in mitigating the balanced and unbalanced voltage disturbances.
