Abstract

A novel disc coreless permanent magnet synchronous generator (DCPMSG) with low-starting resistance torque is presented in this paper. The operation principle and electromagnetic design of the generator was discussed. An electromagnetic design program of the DCPMSG was also developed. The period of generator’s design is greatly shortened by the program. The work efficiency is improved. A 300W prototype was designed based on the result of the finite element analysis (FEA) of electromagnetic field.
