Abstract

This paper presents a dagger-sampling Monte Carlo simulation method to evaluate power distribution system reliability. By reducing random number needed, dagger-sampling technique can save computing time, so as to improve simulation efficiency. RTBS Bus-2 system was employed for the test system, and comparison between dagger-sampling Monte Carlo method and direct sequential Monte Carlo method was carried out. Comparison results demonstrated the correctness and effectiveness of dagger-sampling Monte Carlo method.
