Abstract

Operation characteristic of MPPT (Maximum Power Point Tracking) under varying irradiance condition is analyzed in this paper. The POS (Photovoltaic Output Sensorless) MPPT control method is proposed to reduce the overall system cost and simplify the control algorithm. A fuzzy logic based algorithm, which has a simple feedback structure and fewer measured parameters, is proposed for effective MPPT. The main advantage of fuzzy logic method is that the oscillation of power around at maximum power point and tracking time can be minimized. The stability of PV (Photovoltaic) power generation system which has fuzzy logic based POS MPPT control method under varying irradiance condition analyzed through the simulation using PSCAD/EMTDC.
