The Incident Angle and the Frequency Range of Radar System in Medicine

Abstract

UWB Radar system has been used in many domains such as medicine and military applications. This system is able to take medical image of human body structure using elec tromagnetic wave. In fact, our system consists in sending an UWB pulse, receiving and analyzing the echo re ected by each human body layer. In this paper, we compute radar parameters like frequency and incident angle in attempt to capture image of each human body layer. We model human body by multilayer parallel dielectric. In addition, we compute the frequency range and the incident angle which maximize the echo re ected by each human body layer in order to optimize our radar system.
