Abstract

This paper presents the economical analyses and the effectiveness of a Superconducting Current Limiter Reactor (SCLR) in order to improve the electric power system’s transient stability. In assessing the power losses during the normal conditions, we will compare two types of reactors, namely a non-superconducting material (Copper) and a superconducting material, type II (YBCO). This study will be performed using MATLAB/SIMULINK.
