Solar Energy, Solar Domestic Hot Water Production, Simulation, Thermosyphon Systems
This contribution deals with the working principle of thermosyphon systems in brief, describes the results of a worldwide market analysis on thermosyphon solar water heaters, gives a insight into modelling and simulation of thermosyphon systems and concludes by presenting simulation results for Gaborone (Botswana) compared with three European locations. In Gaborone it is possible to achieve 2,000 kWh·a-1 of hot water with a system consisting of a 1.9 m² solar collector and 180 l hot water storage.
