Abstract

Wavelet analysis is applied to a turbulence-corrupted optical signal in order to reduce its fluctuation and consequently enhance the information recovering. An experimental set up was used to obtain a real turbulent noisy signal for testing the capabilities of this new technique. Even in the presence of strong signal fading it was possible to recover the digital information with accuracy.
