The Far Eastern Branch of RAS (FEB RAS) established corporate network connects all the regional RAS research centers and provides support for basic network systems and corporate application services (videoconferencing system, storage and computing). The communication systems development, growth of user demands in sharing and accessing objective data, creating distributed applications, poses new challenges to existing information and telecommunication infrastructure to comply with emerging requirements. Presented below is a summary of 5-years experience in building a corporate FEB RAS network and proposals for its development.
