Textural watermarks, direction field, nonlinear filtering.
A method for extraction of textural watermarks that are based on various orientation of linear raster patterns is proposed. Textural watermarks of this type are widely used for polygraphic documents protection. Therefore input data for a procedure of extraction is digitized printing samples. The proposed algorithm is grounded on direction field method, but the way of its construction is adapted to structure and origin of input data. The method was tested both on real and synthesized samples and showed high quality values at adequate level of distortions on entry images.
