Multi-agent system, load balancing, smart grid, inter feeder load transfer, and message transitions
In this paper, a multi-agent system (MAS) and the associated load balancing algorithm are proposed to equalize loading among feeders and main-transformers in electrical distribution systems. Switching operations for inter-feeder load transfer will be obtained for the load balancing problem. Message transitions between the agents of the MAS are presented in this paper. Parallel and autonomous decisions in MAS are indicated. Composite load profiles are considered in MAS. This approach is implemented by multi-threading in Java platform. A sample distribution system is illustrated to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed approach.
