Abstract

At present, in the course of prototype modeling making, the materials are selected by experience, and the material selection chart is incoherent. There is no interconnected system, quantitative value and scientific methods to support the correctness of these charts. Especially, these charts are usually done by few experts’ opinion and cognition. The purpose of this research is to build a new process of how to making the best material selection chart for improving the credibility and enriching the reference value. This research utilizes the analytic method of Quality Function Deployment (QFD) and Grey Relation Analysis (GRA) to combine experts’ opinions and externalize the tacit knowledge. The result of this research is to produce the best material selection chart for all students at prototype model making course. This paper achieves the best selection chart based on mathematics. It improves the existing imperfection of a chart which is usually made according to experience, and it also enriches the reference value.
