Abstract

Workflow is widely used in dynamic process definition and execution of knowledge representation. Traditional workflow research emphasizes on the process-based workflow property, modeling technology, verification and validation technology. The authors find that there exists deficiency in dealing with the knowledge or data representation capabilities of these process-based workflows. A novel method is introduced to define an ontology-based knowledge service workflow with dataflow, and verification and validation methodology is also provided by the authors to find the semantic errors of this workflow. Experiments show that this method provides the ability to modeling the rich-knowledge service in agriculture domain, and verification and validation methodology also provides its advantage on efficiency and usability comparing with the traditional method.
