Abstract

In this paper, a high-speed printing testbench is described. A brief description of the components and their character istics is also presented. This testbench was mainly developed to investigate control issues in high-speed printing machines. Several other industrial problems (other than printing) were also kept in mind while developing this test bench, like, torsional vibrations in shafts, high-speed positioning with coupled motors, etc. Principle structure of the testbench consists of two rotating steel cylinders, three motors and a torsion bar. Furthermore a mathematical model of the testbench is presented and the results of various experiments for parameter identification are discussed.
