Fuzzy Weighted Average, Multiple Criteria Decision Making, Fuzzy Number, α-Cuts
The use of fuzzy numbers to represent both the criteria rating and their relative weighting factors is a very suitable approach for multiple criteria decision making. This paper reviews the problem of Fuzzy Weighted Average (FWA) based on α-cut resolution of fuzzy sets. Also we will provide an improved FWA formula for aggregation of categorized performance measuring data, an efficient calculation for measuring data with the same criteria rating collected from decision making group. An example of Likert’s questionnaire with its scales represented by Triangular Fuzzy Number (T.F.N.) is used for presentation.
