Abstract

There are many threats to the confidentiality of data stored on end-user devices, such as personal computers and PDAs. In particular, the protection of licenses which include right objects to consume copyrighted contents is necessary in digital rights management (DRM). This paper presents an implementation of a SW-based secure storage for license protection. We describe the main features of the secure storage: virtual disk volume management, key management, license file encryption, and secure audit. The secure storage is compliant with the newly published standard for storage devices by IEEE P1619.
