Artificial Intelligence based Controllers Applied to a Bromelian Recovery Process

Abstract

Artificial intelligence based controllers have found widespread application in industry and have led to improvements in productivity and thus profitability, which is consistent with market requirements for high standard products and safe and environmentally friendly processes. In this work, investigations on neural systems, such as adaptive neuro-fuzzy (ANFIS) and artificial neural networks (ANN) based controllers, were carried out in a semi-batch bromelain precipitation process due to their adaptability to dynamic processes. The results showed that the controllers were able to maintain the controlled variable around set-point, presenting small rise time.
