Abstract

In this paper, an innovative method for multiple sidelobe canceller (MSC) in practical radar systems is presented. The proposed method can allow large errors in the estimation of desired direction by generating a wide and deep null around the desired direction at the auxiliary channel output. This wide null can be introduced by adding auxiliary antenna consisting of two elements only to the main array antenna. The other advantages of the proposed method, it does not require explicit knowledge of direction of arrivals of the interference signals. Thus, it can provide good suppression performance for unexpected interference signals or increase in the noise power. Comparison over the traditional MSC method is held. Sample results are given.
