Abstract

A wide band antenna working simultaneously at GSM, UMTS and PCS band is presented. Radiation features of the main radiating element (dipole) are modelled by using a rectangular cavity with walls higher than the dipole height. Antenna performance is also improved by using a metallic square sheet placed above the dipole (reflection aspects) and a metallic support below the cavity (horizontal beamwidth widening). All this elements result in a wide band antenna which works with a 40% reflection bandwidth (–15 dB criteria) and 85º beamwidth.
