Abstract

Knowledge of available bandwidth in a network path is of major importance in controlling the congestion, streaming applications, Quality of Service (QOS) verification, Server Selection (SS) etc. It controls congestive collapse by reducing oversubscription of any of the link node level or network level. It is achieved by reducing rate of the packet. Large number of users of data-intensive and distributed scientific applications adopts various tools and techniques to estimate the available bandwidth. This paper presents one such tool using Fuzzy logic technique for detecting the occurrence of congestion using available bandwidth named as PathFlange.
