Abstract

This study investigated the effect of using an innovative computer-based Scratch/ePainting learning environment and related learning processes during a 9-week study by an individual student. The patterns and features of the work and how different learning experiences can be transferred in different tasks were investigated. Analyses of the structure and image design along with observations and interview data produced findings related to the “different-sized big-block” technique, different types of experience transfer and metacognition level. The analysis results will provide both educators and researchers with insights that can form a useful foundation for the further development of teaching strategies for using new technologies in school teaching.
