Surveillance robot, thermal power plant, routine patrol,and robot control
As thermoelectric power plant facilities are being deteriorated, their safety and reliability are getting more importance, and therefore, on-site routine patrol has been done by human workers. Due to poor working environments in the power plants, however, the necessity of a surveillance robot system has been gradually increased instead of the human workers from the viewpoint of the workers’ safety and work efficiency. For this purpose, this paper presents a surveillance robot, controllers, and its control strategy. We confirmed its effectiveness through experiments.
