Abstract

Interconnection networks still have crucial problems in building large-scale systems, while many methods are ac tively discussed. Adaptive routing and throttling are of hopeful methods for improving network performance. This paper addresses adaptation level and throttling algorithm based on the existing Cross-Line method. This paper also presents effective evaluation method and quantitative per formance measures of interconnection networks. Evalua tion results reveal that higher adaptation level than neces sary degrades performance and considerable performance improvements in the throttling method. Throughout the evaluation processes, usefulness of the proposed measures is revealed.
