Prototype of Five-Fingered Prosthetic Hand: EMG based Control Scheme and Novel Mechanical Principle

The article describes fundamental ideas of a design and de velopments of a mechanical principle used for building up a real prosthetic (robotic) device. Basic preliminary con trol scheme, using as input signals EMG, was designed and verified. For processing of EMG the continuous wavelet transform has been used and as pattern recognition com ponent feed forward ANN with back propagation learning algorithm is applied. Some further innovative ideas are pre sented as well as definitely novel concept of mechanical principle that will be used inside of new generation device.
