Abstract

Iris recognition is one of the most widely implemented biometric systems in use today. John Daugman is said to have developed the most widely used algorithms and most efficient methods of recognition, but there have been many new findings and algorithms. Although iris recognition is a very popular biometric, there are still many conflicts within it. This paper presents iris recognition’s most widely used methods and algorithms, sheds light on the most common problems in today’s recognition systems, and provides ideas for future research and development.
