camera calibration, distortion, correction w. r. t. depth
When an object is observed at different distances some ef fects in a camera’s image occur, which are not covered by the pinhole camera model. In practical applications a change of the distortion mapping with respect to the dis tance to the lens can be observed. In this article we pro pose a an additional correction term for the pinhole camera model. We implement this correction term as a spline in three variables, including the depth of the observed object. The correction spline is determined after a calibration with respect to the standard in-plane distortion model.
