Edge detection, scale-space, edge linking, wavelets.
In this paper 1 a novel multi-scale edge detector is pre sented. It describes the flow of the edges of an image in the space scale plane independently of the adopted differentiation operation. A strong link through subse quent scales is established, so that it is possible to pre dict the evolution of a singularity point in the original image from fine to (any) coarse resolution, rejecting both noise and non significant points. Preliminary re sults show the potentialities of this approach, since it is able to detect both dominant edges and fine details.
