Robust Adaptive Beamforming using Circular Arrays with Steering Mismatch

Adaptive beamforming using a uniform circular array (UCA) under steering angle mismatch is considered. We propose a cost function consisting of the terms that use a posteriori information related to the received array data and an exponential constraint. An estimate of the actual array response vector for each of the desired signals is obtained by minimizing the cost function. An algorithm is further presented to iteratively solve the optimization problem. Theoretical analysis regarding the convergence property of the proposed method is investigated. Simulation examples are provided for showing the effectiveness of the proposed method.
