Abstract

The robust stability of single-input single-output LTI systems in the presence of controller uncertainty is addressed, considering both plant and controller uncertainties as being additive. Two frequency-domain upper bounds on controller uncertainty are derived from unstructured and structured uncertainty models. The upper bounds act as sufficient conditions for maintaining robust stability of the system. The bounds are calculated in a simple way, which makes them suitable for real-time applications needing multiple controller design attempts due to changes in system components or environmental conditions.
