Abstract

Optimal Power Flow methodology was defined in the early sixties as an extension to the Economic Dispatch Problem. The main purpose being to determine the optimal setting to the control variables, taking into account a wide variety of operational constraints. This development uses linear sensitivities obtained form the Decoupled Load Flow, active and reactive models. The optimization approach uses linear programming. The second part of this work, presents preliminary results.
