Chip Design Process, Modeling, Simulation, RS Model
How would it be if I used another resource? Would I then meet my deadlines? Would it be more efficient? Those and similar thoughts cross the minds of – chip design process – managers. The semiconductor design industry suffers from yearly losses up to $ 4 billion because of lacking possibili ties to predict courses and outcomes of design processes. In addition, tracing several alternatives to check the best one is very costly, time-consuming and thus unjustifiable. There fore, simulative approaches should be considered. Adapted to the realities in the semiconductor design industry and vested with the necessary formalism, simplicity and ex pressiveness, we propose a novel approach to model real processes towards a computer aided simulation.
