Partial discharges, impulse voltage, solid insulators
Partial discharges due to impact ionization is a major aging factor of insulators. In a previous work, the time evolution of partial discharges on insulators under impulse voltage of 1.2/50 μs form was examined. In this work, the increment of the charge under the same impulse voltage is examined. The measurements show that this increment has an exponential form. Besides, at some parts of the oscillographs is observed a decrease of the increment rate of the charge due to mechanical stress.
