Asset management of electrical power systems is mainly a decision making task. Decisions about when and how to maintain the existing equipment or about when to re tire and replace it are on the daily agenda of an asset man ager. For such desicions not only sufficient background in formation is necessary, furthermore an appropriate visual ization method of this information is called for. This pa per presents risk maps as a graphical approach which can help illustrate the multicriterial information emerging in the field of asset management decisions.
