Abstract

Optimal Power Flow is a vital tool used by analysts and operators for reliable power system planning and secure and economic operation of the power systems. In long range planning, optimal power flow is used for transmission system and reactive resources expansion planning. Importance of incorporating non-statistical uncertainties involved in such applications has been recognized since long. Most of the earlier researchers have used linear Fuzzy Power Flow models while dealing with uncertainty. In this paper development of a Fuzzy Optimal Power Flow built around a truly non-linear boundary power flow is proposed. Non-statistical uncertainties in load forecast are considered. Results of a sample system have been obtained to demonstrate the applicability of the approach.
