Abstract

In this paper, the effect of the generation extension of the Libyan power system on the short circuit levels in the transmission and distribution networks is investigated. The problems expected form the upgrading the distribution transformer's capacity were analyzed with determining the optimum operation scheme. The investigation was made for the plan of the Libyan power system up to 2020 and, accordingly, all conclusions and recommendations were made.
