Abstract

For the first time, the performance of combining OFDM (orthogonal frequency division multiplexing) and p persistent CSMA/CD (carrier sense multiple access with collision detection)-based indoor power-line communica tion (PLC) network under the channel model from OP ERA (Open PLC European Research Alliance) is ana lyzed in this paper. In our proposed system, we adopt OFDM as the physical (PHY) layer modulation technique, convolutional code as the forward error correction (FEC) code, Viterbi algorithm as the decoding scheme, and p persistent CSMA/CD as the MAC (media access control) layer protocol. The system performance is evaluated. The simulation results show that the throughput of our proposed system is good enough for transmitting multi media signals and Internet data.
