Abstract

A simple demodulator structure for minimum shift keying (MSK) modulation with frequency-offset compensation is presented. The proposed demodulator does not perform any timing estimation. It is proposed for use in a low-cost direct-sequence spread-spectrum (DSSS) receiver, where symbol synchronization and detection are performed by a conventional DSSS despreader. To demonstrate the applicability of the demodulator, a standard-based digital receiver circuit is designed and simulated based on VHDL technology.
