Abstract

A novel identification process for three phase induction motors is presented. The aim of the process is to find reliable control system design models. It is shown that, from steady state and transient responses data, accurate linear models of the electrical subsystem of induction motors can be obtained. The identification process only requires the measurement of stator currents. Thus, no additional circuits or equipment are required.
