Abstract

The smoothing reactor components, resistance and inductance, have a significant effect on the transient behavior and hence on the stability of the drive system as well as the reduction of the DC ripples. This work discusses the influence of these components on a chosen drive system. The slip energy recovery drive system is chosen for the study because of its wide use in industry. The synchronously rotating reference frame model is adopted in this study to make a comparison between the predicted response oscillations and its associated eigenvalues.
