Abstract

We analyze the various forces generated in a hydraulic operating mechanism, such as operating force, repulsive force, spring force and buffer force, by considering the fluid properties and the mechanical structure of the system. A dashpot was modelled to obtain the buffer force. Also, a stroke curve obtained from simulation results was compared with the experimental curve. Dynamic equation was calculated, and the operation of the gas circuit breaker (GCB) was understood.
