Abstract

This paper presents a two-norm approach for optimal multi-objective harmonic filter planning problem in distribution systems. The objectives consist of two most important terms, which are the total harmonic current distortion at the point of common coupling (PCC) and the total harmonic voltage distortion. The reactive power compensation constraints, harmonic distortion constraints, power source variation constraints and filter de-tuning constraints, are all taken into consideration. The problem is to find a compromise for satisfying solution of the decision-maker (DM). It can be readily handled by the two-norm approach. Results of application of the proposed method to general multi-objective harmonic filter planning are also presented.
